Missing Operating System

I just rebooted my system win 7 with an msi motherboard and all of a sudden on the reboot i get a black screen with gold lettering on it then it disappears before i can read and and it takes me to a black screen saying "Missing operating system" ive tried to reboot with the windows 7 cd but it wont let me boot from the cd. Pls help

ok nvm now. i had plugged a monitor in before i rebooted which i guess now that is a no-no. now that i unplugged it rebooted fine
