Tom's overclocking article recommends using a top end ASUS/Gigabyte board for this CPU. I'm limited to $100-$130. Need SATA compliance, onboard RAID and graphics. Not planning to overclock just yet, but would like to cover (up to 3.1 GHz) - no more.

If you have recommendations; experience please comment.

Thanks

I would suggest a board with the Intel 975 or 955 chipset for starters. I have a 945G Intel board and have my 805 D clocked at 3.5. My board was $119.

No problems with my ASUS P5LD2. I reached 3.6 GHz without any trouble. The Deluxe version might be worth a look if the price is right.
