More about building think
  1. well im not sure how much 500pound will get you
    about half a tonne probly
    lol

definetly got the 7600gt its almost double the performance of a stock 7600gs so it will still be alot better than an o/c 7600gs

if you can wait til july 24th amd is lowering its cpu prices by around 50%
and also core2duo will be out which will be better price and performance than amd x2's
  2. the 7600GT will me a lot better, newegg.com offers the 7600GT KO for about the same price as the 7600GT so either one of those, 7600GS blows.
  3. when is core due 2 comming out, and why is amd slashing prices on the 24th?
  4. just curious is newegg.com a uk or us site?
  5. core2duo is coming out on july 23rd
amd is lowering prices to try compete with the core2duo's

the budget core2duo the e6300 will be similar in performance to a 4800+ and will cost ALOT less
  6. It's a US site based in California. :)
  7. usa unfortunatly, we in UK get the expensive pricing

Haha, you're too far away from China, Taiwan and Singapore. :)
  9. i guess ill wait till the core due comes out, whats the differece between core duo and duel core?
  10. same as in AUS
prices are almost 150% more here
  11. I was thinking about the exact same computer. It'll be my first one. I'm only 13. :) Anyway, are you from Turkey. I'm from Bulgaria.
  12. yeh im Turkish, live in UK

Core Duo is the name of the processor that's coming out(Conroe). Dual Core is what your processor is, it can be single like IP 4 like mine.
  14. all the core2dou's are duel core cpu's
they also consume less power than the ones out now
  15. will the performances be much better then a duel core 3800
  16. i was 13 when i built my first computer
the same one i still got now
2 years later and im just startin to think about upgrading now
  17. damm i fell old lol, i built my first one at 16, used for a year and an upgrading it now,

how about the motherboard for the Core Dueos? will theey be 939 or amd 2
  18. the core2duo m/b's will use socket 775 the same as the current pentium4's/pentiumD's

the core2duo in the same price range as the 3800+(after the price drop of amd's) will probly be 20-30% improvement over the 3800+

You think me at 13 can do it?

Let me see if I understand this...Wait, so I can get a Socket 775 mobo now and wait for Core2Duo to come out? Same mobos? That means I can upgrade my processor on this comp to Core2Duo!
  21. What do you think of this mobo?

ASUS P5LD2 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard

  22. Turk, I don't think you should get that case. There's less room for upgradeability. Get a ATX Mid Toer case. Your mobo might not fit in the Micro ATX case. I can't see how big it is. :)

Many hardware sites have benchmarked the upcoming Conroe CPUs (July 23rd). Model E6300 will be the slowest, while E6700 will be the fastest. Shipped in lots of 1000, the price will range from about $200 to $530 USD; that's roughly £110 - £291. Retail price should be higher, also don't forget to add in 17.5% VAT.

Click here for a www.PCPer.com recent view the compares Conroe to AMD's faster CPUs. Note that the slowest Conroe E6300 CPU can compete very well against the X2 4800+ and the very expensive FX-62 when it comes to games.

AMD will be slashing prices on July 24th because they need to compete against Conroe especially when the inexpensive E6300 can compete against the X2 4800+ and FX-62 in games. AMD is in a world of hurt until they can release their next generation CPU, K8L, sometime in mid 2007.

If you want to build a cheap PC then go with AM2, but I think the best bang for the buck (pound) is to go with Conroe.

That is correct. The motherboard you selected is ATX, not m-ATX. I will definitely not fit in a m-ATX case.

Wow! Conroe looks very impressing. I think 6400 will be right for my and my wallet. :)
  26. How much will they cost?

    They're free for everyone.
  28. I need a case that isit high so it fits in under shelf type thing lol, there are simular cases that do ATX so ill get one of those.

Also is the "core Duo 2" AMD or Interl?

    Yeah; I'm 14 and I did it.
  30. ok i found out core duo 2 was intel, when do AMD release there rival? and does the duo core perform better on games?

Lol. Nothing's free. Except newegg's shipping and handling sometimes. Lol
  32. Ok after doing some resurch, it seems that AMD wont be releasing a new range of CPU until 2007.

The Core Duo Range will drive down AMD Duel Core prices

But if i get the AMD2 Motherboard wouldent it last me longer, so if i choose to upgrade in the feature ect so basically it would last me longer right?

but i should wait untill august to buy the AMD chip as it will be cheaper then.

    am i right
  33. well getting an am2 m/b might last longer. idk though.
i would get core2duo that should last u a long time coz as far as i know intel is planning on any socket changes soon.
core2duo may even be better than k8l anyway.
core2duo is still better value for money even after the amd price drop.
the core2duo prices will start at around $210 US for the e6300 and 500-600$ for the e6700 and 800+ for the 6800XE(extreme edition)

the intel's are better overclockers than the athlons aswell

and btw some of the intel 775 m/b's out now will support core2duo but not all of them.
