I had planned on buying a 7900gt
I'd prob have to RMA 5 before getting one that works..
thanks in advance..

You should be fine. Without the X1800XT you system should only be drawing a max of 10 amps from the 12v rails. The X1800Xt will add on another 9 amps for a total of 19 amps.

The reason why some people are having problems with the 7900GT is because the vendors seriously overclocks the GPU and the memory. The factory settings are 400MHz/1300MHz (Core/Memory). Some manufaactures overclock them to 620MHz/1600MHz. That's some crazy overclocks and a tremendous amount of heat.

You should be fine. Although I am using a True Control 550W with my 256MB one, it and a 7800GT, ran fine for some testing/benching in an A64 3000+, 1GB, 1 HDD, 1 optical system with a smart power 2.0 400W power supply as comes in the TX640B case.
