Hey Envy,
I have 2 different hdd's with my Asus A8N32-SLI, one is a WEstern Dig RAptor SATA 74.3 gig 10 K and the other is 2 Maxtor SATA II 250 gig 16mb cache hdds. I have not had any problems with either of them. I have XP and apps running off my Raptor and my games, MP3's, and movies are on 1 of the other Maxtors. The third drive is unplugged and used for backing up "MY Documents" and only used for that purpose. That way if I get a virus, all I have to do is wipe my other drives and reinstall.

But as you can see I have both drives different and they work well together. It's not uncommon to see that in gaming rigs.
