Yes it's off topic, but when we heard about Danni.com's impressive hardware operation we felt it was worth to write about it. What are your thoughts on the story?

Very off topic. Rather have a real wife, real sex, real etc. then a bunch of fantasies. As for those who go in for such stuff, StrangeStranger covered it. Keep the articles to computer stuff, not porn.

You could make the "impressive hardware" comment for any high volume porn site. It's a pretty lame excuse for an article this inappropriate. You seem to be pining for readership by peddling second-hand soft porn. Arent you proud?

Oh, my thoughts on the story? I didnt read it.

Such, prudeness!! Good article though. Although the argument can be made that online gaming and live video feeds through IM's is a major rerason for the Broadband push.

I once heard that 70 sum percent of internet traffic is pornography related. That is a MAJOR push. Everything else seems minor compared to that. If you wanna look at numbers, check out the Google Trends tool. Compare "porn" with anything else. It will dwarf anything you can think of.

It seems like porn has been the decciding factor for several major tech breakthroughs that are entertainment related. Its why very few people have Beta-Max, and noone has seen a new video for it in decades.

As for the article? Seeing how so much internet traffic is generated by adult websites, it would seem quite pertinent to the subject of internet reporting. While this article lacked some focus (too many distractions?), they did try to talk about the hardware of the site. Something that I imagine is very hard to do when you are sitting in a porn studio. They probably did the best they could to keep on track while not looking like total dorks. Surely the hardware could be covered better, but its a server room! Much less interesting than whats going on down the hall...

Heh, if you liked that one, you'll probably love this one. I just don't like the direction the whole site has been going. The same way that I don't like people who spend hundreds of dollars to make their car "look" fast and "sound" fast without actually being fast. The comment above was not meant to be 'prudish'. If I want porn articles I go to a porn site. When I come to a hardware site, I want datacenter articles. Not "Sex Sells". What putz decided to let that crap article through anyway? It looks like an attempt by a hardware editor to justify an unusual expense report. :?

You gotta admit it's where the money is. In the late 90's I was getting paid $90 an hour to do database administration and it was simple stuff with access tables, creating views and easy stuff like that. Easy money. I was single and I didn't tell my parents any more than that I was a DBA and I made like $60,000 in 4 months. In fact, the owner of the site said a perk was that I could have a room in the house with the girls in it :). My new GF made me pass on that and I moved on after a couple months to a more legitimate but lower paying gig.
