Hey guys,

I'm working on my second computer to try and bring it up to scale with the games of today (namely BF2, and CS:S).

The card in particular is an eVga Geforce 5700LE. Basic specs of 256mb memory, 128-bit (phew!), and I believe 4 Pipelines.

Core @ 225 and Memory @ 400.

I've seen varying reports early on of people clocking the Core up much higher to about 375...yep and Memory as high as 450 or 500 without heatsinks. As it stands Cooling may be an issue since its a fairly confined case although the actual eVga 5700LE has an actual fan and isn't just passive.

Looking to hear from someone hopefully with a 5700LE themselves who can shed some light on what you've been able to do with it.

Main goal is to get BF2 to run at a decent FPS.

BF2 is very demanding, I don't think overclocking that puppy is going to get you to playable performance in that game at a reasonable resolution.

Best bet is probably to sell it online & buy a different card...

Well, the actual value on the card is just about nill and getting this second computer in playable condition is more of a fancy rather then something that I'm gonna drop more then a few bucks on :)

As for as OC'ing so far I've got it from:
225mhz Core Clock >>> 310mhz >>> 365mhz
400mhz Memory Clock >>> 488mhz >>> 505mhz

FPS in CS:Source has taken a noticable jump from about 32 FPS to 41 FPS at 1024/768 with everything except for AA pumped up, so its definitely helping.

EDIT: Memory is topping out just about since the heat for thats becoming an issue, but upping the Core Clock is still boosting things. Getting 45 FPS now almost a 50% increase overall :)

I'm getting cautious about notching it up too much more since I'm about at the limits of what RivaTuner is suggesting. I may rip some heatsinks off of some MX's I've got laying around and put them to good use, although I think the 4 Pipelines is going to continue to kill me in BF2.

I've got Low/Med working fine in BF2, but like you said Cleeve, this card just might be just to week nonetheless.

Unfortunatly the weakness of the FX series as a whole was playing DX9 games. Hense why I never hung onto the 5800U or 5900U I had. Although
the 5900 did make 5950 speeds quite easily with a bios flash.

You can get 800x600 and if you push far enough maybe 1024x768 with textures, view distance etc extremely low. Its either that or force DX8.
