Just curious what a safe temp on a X1800gto is? I ran an overdrive utility in catalyst and it set mine to recommended OC setting, they are really high. Back to the temps though it is running at between 59 and 62c.

It's a safe speed. If it gets towards 100C, then you should consider better cooling.

my radeon 1950 pro by chaintech runs at 79-80C when i play any game.did some maintaince on the video like cleaning the dust.still haven`t removed the front panel to change the thermo paste though.also for the asus version of the card i saw it requires a minimum of 450 watt PSU.atm i use some crappy chinese 400 watt PSU.
I have 2 questions.Should i risk and play games at this temperature since the ATI utility doesn`t warn me the video is overheating or those degrees are dangerous?
2nd question is.Is it the lack of power causing my video card to heat up so much.Used to have another PSU before my probs started, was a 400 watt fortron saga.
thanks in advance for any comments which can help me solve my issues.

can you not just get an hd4670 as a replacement for that card?

heh cash is an issue too and a big one.if it wasn`t the lack of cash i would`ve just bought a 550 watt spire psu and see for myself if the picture gets better.
