since i re-installed Windows XP in my computer, my Wester Digital WD2000JS (SATA2) is slower than before, it loads stuff slower, and i can clearly see it when it loads windows, it takes like 2x more time than before.

i tried defragging, but even there it seem to be too slow to defrag.

here's the specs of my computer:

Case: Antec Sonata 2 (with Antec SmartPower 2.0 450W)
Board: Asus A8V-E SE
CPU: AMD Athlon64 3700+ 2.2Ghz (with ThermalTake CL-P0200)
RAM: 1gb DDRAM400
Video: MSI Radeon X1300Pro 256mb (ATI chipset)
OS: Windows XP (with Service Pack 2 and latest patches installed)
(sound and network is on-board)

my computer is working fine, it's just that the speed/transfer rate of my hard-disk is killing me for multi-tasking (and sometimes when i have web radio on and i want to open, for example, MSN Messenger, i can hear the sound stuttering because the hard-disk (i believe it's the transfer rate) is slower.

i really need help here....please help me! :)

thanks!

i'm still unsure...maybe it'll screw-up my computer again, and i really don't want this to happen :(

what does the VIA Hyperion drivers setup do? does it detect if i need all or some of the drivers included in this package? does it install only the drivers i need?

my Asus A8V-E SE is compatible with the VIA Hyperion Pro 4-in-1 package? (it doesn't have AGP, but PCI-Express, and i only have 1 hard-disk in my computer an it's SATA/SATA2)
