Hello all,

This is my first post! That aside...

I heard somewhere that the new Intel Core 2 Duo processors would be going down in price some time in the recent future. Can anyone confirm this? I'm about to buy all of the parts for a new computer but I can wait if these prices are going to go down.

Thanks!

That link says the Pentium 4 processors are going down in January 07, so does that mean that the core 2 duo processors would go down as well? I don't wanna spend $300 for a E6600 if all I have to do is wait

Supply and demand...
With Conroe procs widely available, fewer and fewer people will want P4s. The P4s are being closed out but supplies are still good so prices should continue to fall. Do you know anyone that wants one?
E6xxx is a different matter though. Unless the global market for cpus drops, AMD lowers its prices even more, or Conroe production has serious problems, their pricing should remain stable short term.
It is a general rule however that over time that prices do eventually fall. How long do you want to wait? $300 is not bad for what you get...
