SCSI drives are very fast, usually high RPM drives most commonly found in servers. They're quite easy to hotswap (and install into RAID arrays) because many of them take power and data transfer from the single connector on the rear of the drive.

That's basic. Look up on Wikipedia or wait for a more detailed explaination if you need anything more than that.

To be honest when looking for factual stuff you should Google it before starting a new thread, forums are great for opinions and discussions but quite often you can get misinformed by people.

Small computer standard interface, drives typically used in servers as already stated. The drive controllers are based on cards rather than integrated into the drive itself (as in IDE, integrated drive electronics).

SCSI drives as they're aimed at enterprise users carry a large price premium but are generally more reliable, offer hot swap capability and higher rotational speeds (typically 15,000 RPM) they also usually require some form of active cooling and tend to have heatsinks forming part of the housing.
