Later on in this year (December or Earlier) I am going to buy and build my first system. This isn't a problem. I will have a budget of app$700AUD and want to buy a pentium D 805 and a GOOD overclocking mobo to suit.
I'll probably have to buy the processor before the motherboard (which scares me a lot). I would like SATA, IDE 2x PCIx16 slots, onboard LAN, two PCI slots and DDR2 Support.
As I am waiting to save up for this, I would like to know If there is a motherboard chipset/type which will be a good one to look out for (to see if prices drop on it).
My last request is that the mobo costs around $100-$200 AUD and could support a conroe later on. If you can direct me to another topic or give me some advice that would be really appreciated.

forget about the 805, especially if you're going to build in December. Grab a Conroe and a supporting board (anything based on the P965 chipset to guarantee Conroe support).

Well then, how much is conroe going to be?

1000 unit pricing is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 $999
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 $530
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 $316
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 $224
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 $183

which means you can probably expect to pay these amounts for each chip at a retail outlet:

Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 $1080-1130
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 $600-650
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 $380-410
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 $260-290
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 $200-235

Note: These are not official MSRP's. They are only my guesses at how much retail shops will charge.

Is that US$ or AUD$, i'm guessing AUD$ becuase $1900 for a new chip is a bit ridiculous

The bulk prices are to the best of my knowledge in USD.
