Just keep reinserting it and it will eventually pick it up. I have that
problem with mmc cards.

Make sure there is no pocket lint, or other debris, in the slot.

many "older" units, have issues with this, the contacts in the sd slot do
not hold the card as securely as they used to and as the ipaq gets bumped
around the card looses contact. the common work around seems to be to put a
piece of scotch (cello) tape or a piece of self adhesive mailing label on
the bottom, back side of the card. this makes the card thicker and thus
holds in place better. BE ADVISED: do this at your own risk, as it would
be quite a mess if a piece if the tape came off down in the SD slot, however
I have been doing this for close to a year now with 2 or 3 different cards
and haven't had any problems.

I find the case it came with stops any bumps getting through. Annoying
that when switched off, a press on the unit will switch it on by making
it think the sd card had just been inserted.
