533 vs. 667

[dumb]

if you were to choose between the two, what would it be..?

2 pcs. 512MB DDR2 667 (1GB total)

or

1 pc. 1GB DDR2 533

pls take note that the first is 667 and the other is 533.

the 2 pcs. 667 coz it is faster and u can set it up in dual channel

If you dont OC, the DDR2 533 will let you run 1:1 with the upcomming Coe 2 Duo/Extreme.

On A64 Am2 platform, you get almost no performance hit while running on memory Divider so faster ram could be usefull especially on X2 while doing a lot of multitasking.

I personally in favor of lower speed better timmings, to get a really clear picture on how Core react to higher bandwith VS lower timmings, I gues we'll have to wait for the release and more torough review.

I'm not sure about the 1:1 ratio with core2. Anyhow it would seem a 1gig chip would be as much as a 2x512 kit. If you plan to upgrade past 2 gigs, or only have 2 ram slots, get the 1 gig and add another later on. If this is all you want though, ..go 667 2x512 for the dual channel advantage as the other guy said. 533 is useless unless it's the best your mobo can support
