OK hears is the problem

I have three orphan domain controllers listed under Users and computer in
the domain controller’s folder. I want to remove them. When I try to remove
them, I get a message “DSA object can not be deleted

They are not present under sites and services; I also found a Q(216498)
article on how to remove domain controllers using the ntdsutil, the ntdsutil
does not see the domain controllers also.

How can I remove them???

thanks

The KEY is that you must "CONNECT" to a working DC,
and "SELECT" the abandoned/lost DC or Domain.

The words "CONNECT" and "SELECT" are technical
terms.

I did, connected to a working DC as discribded in Q216498 and I drilled down
using the commands in the Q aritical, when I got to the site in the domain
and did a "list servers in site" command, it showed a list of server but not
the ones in the Users and computers mmc plug in. I also checked sites and
services and it reflects the same thing as the nsdsutil, why are they in the
sites and services plug in and not in the users and computers plug in ????
any Ideas ?????

I will not speak to using ntdsutil as Herb has that part under control. You
need to make sure that the userAccountControl is set to 4096 before you will
be able to remove it....

Change that value ( assuming that it is something else ) and then you should
be able to delete it....
