Hello, I am looking to buy the ViewSonic VX2025WM 20' LCD for my gaming computer. My system is as follows:
AMD 939 4400+
2 gigs corsair ram
evga 7900gt co
550 ps
Asus a8n-32SLI

Will my single 7900GT CO be enough to power this LCD at 1680*1050 for games or does the size of the monitor make no difference on preformance?
Sorry for this silly noobie question

Depending on what games you're playing; F.E.A.R. and Oblivion will have a hard time running at that resolution, while Doom3 and Half-Life2 should have no problems.

Unless there is something with fear and oblivion that I do not know, they should run fine. Is there a problem in those games with running odd resolutions? My 6800 128 meg agp card and an athlon xp @ 2.3 could handle both with quite decent settings.

That's a nice system. If it's really for gaming, you should consider a different monitor, perhaps even a crt, or a projector, but at the least a 19" LCD. THG reviewed this monitor, and it doesn't seem that hot:
"performance was a far cry from what the best 19" monitors can do."

I have a 19" that wouldn't exactly be considered the best, but it's quite nice. I'd recommend anything that performs better (in reviews, perhaps) than the samsung 940b 19"lcd, as I found it to be just fine for games (better than my old CRT, but it was old ... and hardly the best out there).
