Hello, since all my games work on xp while others dont work in 7, ill give it a shot here.

Eversince I installed service pack 1, all my games crash and give wierd errors (such as dll missing or appcrash)

Games that were affected:

Street Fighter IV:
- an error that states that xlive.dll is missing from my computer.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit:
- APPCRASH (code below) when using USB Gamepad
- However, when I take out the Gamepad, it works fine

NBA 2K11:
- Gamepad freezes the game.
- Worked with gamepad prior to service pack 1

Crysis 2:
- Probably not a first priority problem for me, for it works, BUT
- Gaming performance on campaign so far is lackluster, graphics not so sharp, and the movement is not smooth probably because the game gets a bit choppy
- Used an advanced graphics control program to lower graphical performance for increased fps (the one from this post http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=33008)

Here are some of the specs of my Comp:
Intel Core i5-760 2.8Ghz 8MB cache
2 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB
working usb ports (tested it with other devices such as flash disks and portable hard disks)

These are what i did:

- Tested in Compatibility Mode XP Service Pack 2 and 3
- Updated video card using driver 270.61
- Updated DirectX using End-User Runtimes (it was the StandAlone version of this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?Fami... , couldnt find the link now due to time constraints)
- Did a rollback by uninstalling service pack 1
- Set the affinity of NFS to 2 cores while running the game, still crashes
- Patched NFS using the first patch
- Lots of Googling, couldn't find a solid fix

The games are still in bad shape, SFIV and NFS:HP still dont work while Crysis 2 doesn't run well. Amazingly, SFIV and NFS run well WITH controller in my other XP computer, which has lower specs than this I5

This is as much info as I can give ATM, if you need more info, I'll do my best.

NOTES:
- I have 2 other games in my computer that work perfectly fine:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
and Dragon Age: Origins

Is the controller support windows 7? and why do you have a 64 bit system installed; even with a lower range RAM amount of 2GB?
a b $ Windows 7

Make sure all your drivers are up to date. Graphics card, and game controller included.

You are only a small foot up on the minimum system requirements for crysis 2. So that would explain your issues with that.

Also update your Directx with "directx end-user runtime web installer" from microsofts website.

Yes, the controller can be supported by 7. worked in 2k11 prior to some service pack. Also, i got 64 bit since i was going to get some more ram soon.

Isn't it the same as the standalone installer? The reason for my question is that I used an offline installer which had all the cab files (up to june 2010 if im right).

Well, i fixed the issue by backing up my drive C files into my drive D, then deleting the drive C: partition upon installation, and adding a fresh copy of windows 7.

It wasn't easy, but it worked, now i've got SFIV @ 60fps
