hi,

this is a really long question.
I'd be really appreciate for any1 that finishs reading it.

this is my situation,

ps(1) (i never overclock this mobo)

my computer freeze everytime i watch video files.

ps(2) - however when there is no internet, my comp won't freeze.
what i menat by no-internet is.. the internet will just gone away sometimes.. which i don't know why. (even with newly fresh install)

but most of the time, there is internet..
and ..

first i thought it might b b/c my vid card.. so i replace it..
and the system ran ok for a few days..and the old problem came back.

now i suspect that the problem my came from my ram,
i have 2, one new ddr400..and 3yrs old ddr400.
i kept exchanging b/w these two. and the problem still exists.
so i looked though some thing else.

now i suspect my HD,
i have 3 of them plugged in. (another one throught USB)
i unplugged 3, only one left..
and the problme still exists..

so i think it might b/c of my windows,
i have formatted my computer so many times, before i arrived to this step.

now new problem arose.
while formatting, the xp screen said that my HD is damaged.
i don't really know why that's the prob.
so i swiched to another win xp cd that i have. (the one that used to work)
and right now the problem gone.

i also tried the win 2000 cd that i have, the screen also said that my hd is damaged, (this disc used to work)

so now i got into my windows, install so many drivers.
UNTIL, i have installed the vid drivers (evga 6600gt)
everything's fine. but ...after i reboot, and tried to play vid file.
my comp crash again.

so then i switch to my old VID card, the one i using b4 i bought 6600gt.
this time everything works but it also freeze every now and then.

after these thing .. my comp seems to slow down very much.

now i considering to buy new MOBO.
cos this whole thing might came from the MOBO??

what u guys think?

and i'm really appreciate that u guys have spent time reading this long question.

Sounds like the only thing you haven't changed besides the MB is your internet connection. If possible, could you explain that, not necessarily in detail, but in a way that it resembles english.

haha, sorry sorry.

i don't know where the problem is really came from.
but, let's say, i'm using photoshop or watching some movie clip.
my internet will just stop (by some reason that i don't know)
the only way that i can get it back is to restart my computer.
and everything will get back to normal.

is this wat you looking for.

sorry for the previous engligh.
i'm just a bit hurry in writing the previous paragraph.

Sounds like you are losing your internet connection. Then when you restart, your computer finds your drivers and reinstalls them and you are again connected. Someone with more knoweledge than I about this sort of thing will have to take it from here.

Can you get updated drivers for your hardware which connects your computer to the internet? For your modem, etc.

Are you using onboard LAN? If so there could be a larger underlying motherboard problem which would explain ur restarting problems and random loss of internet connection. 1st step has to be ensuring all ur drivers are upto date however im not sure if a missing or corrupt driver could cause this level of trouble. Worth checkin before you try all ur components in another mobo.

My computer is working perfectly for the past 12 years. Never down for a day. The thing that bothers me is Phillipine women. They not only often kill their husbands, but I believe they are out to kill men generally.

i think i forgot to mention this..

i using lan-on-board
and using all the latest drivers,

however, prob arose when i insitall the latest 6600gt drivers,
it won't play any vid, it seems like it will play,
then, suddenly, everything will slow down dramatically n then eveything will freeze up.

so i tried to switch back to my old vid card,
and the prob solved, but still the comp freeze every now and then
(which i aldo using latest drivers for my old vid card )
my old vid card is 9500pro

If it saves changing out a motherboard or hard drive then id say yeah its worth trying, worst case senario it makes no difference, ur closer to working out what it is and u have a spare cable for future uses.....

but the thing is. i don't really know why one of my vid card works while the other does not.

so even though i have tried the new cable, i still don't think that there would b any different?

what u guys think?

Tom
