I recently got a Casio KL-8100 label printer (free after rebate from
Office Max). I really want to lay out my labels on the computer and not
on the tiny keyboard. Unfortunately, I use LInux, and the EZ-Label
software is only for Windows, and does not run under Wine. Casio's tech
support response (even after escalation to R&D in Japan) is that they
don't have anything compatible with Linux (their words, not mine). They
actually have a web page which has the communication specs for some of
their USB label printers, but the KL-8100 is serial, not USB.

Am I the only one trying to do this? Does anyone else have any experience
in this area or any useful suggestions or advice?

Thanks.
