email & messenger on 2210 - help please

I have a iPAQ 2210 and I have just bought a iPAQ 3715 for my
wife.

I have always had a problem on my 2210 (2003 ROM 1.00) - I can
only ever send email and always get a message when I tried to
receive mail - cannot download mail to PPC - check settings. I
have also never been able to connect with MSN messenger - even
with the latest updated MSN.
The interesting thing id though that I have now tried both
applications on my wife's 3715 (2003SE) and they both work fine
with the same settings. There has to be something else I need to
do or else there must be a bug in my 2210.

Can anyone confirm that they can successfully use POP3 email on
a 2210 (I'm on ntlworld) and if so what settings they use?
Also is anyone successfully using MSN on a 2210?

I'd really like to sort this out. I'm going to try another email
program (nPOP) and see if that works.

This is really annoying - any help please......
