Cmon, why is it so hard to believe an article with no sources??  After all, if it's published on a webpage, it must be true!  And what's more than that, they used strikethrough on the word wonderbra in an IT article!!  Now I KNOW it's true........

Don't know about Core 2 but I have only seen one time the inq was wrong and that was when they said AMD wouldn't go with Dell. Every story posted from there ends up on Anand and other places. They just have it first.

I seen times where it been wrong many times.  What funny is we get people who go oh there always wrong and then next week they post something from the inquierer.  I could point out names but

The only time I trust a site is when there more then one site posting the same info.

I did some digging.  Here's just a few erroneous articles published by The Inq.  It took me all of 5 minutes to dig these up.

Their stories are almost always based on rumor.  Yes, they're right a lot of times.  But they're also wrong a lot too.

They didn't say it would be out in 9 days.  They said the NDA would be lifted in 9 days.

Nice mpjesse.  Also, here's a statement by the great BM in another thread just today:

I't snot the greatest source according to most of you even though I have yet to see them wrong but the Inq has this.

Come on BM, so you say you have "yet to see the Inq wrong" in one thread, and now in this thread...only seen them wrong "once".  Are you going to admit your innacurracy as you face the numerous links mpjesse provides above or do we have to suffer with your antics a little while longer?

Oh by the way what they ere wrong abotu was not a breaking story it was the doubt that Dell would go with AMD this year. Charlie has to wear a bunny suit.

ALso, remember that Tom's is NOT a news outlet but a PC enthusiasts website. I'll give the mugshot guy the benfit od the doubt and see if those stories give them LESS credibilty.

Do you think I read every story on ANY site? You can't even preface a statement around a-holes like you. No wonder no one makes to several thousand posts.

AN article about how nVidia MAY not have to pay for an Intel chipset license.

An article about what they think AMD was doing wrong in 2004. It seems t have all happened except the part about the chipsets - AMD hasn't needed them.

An article about a slide that said there may have been an MS presenttion stating there would be 3 Xbox360s - and Vista came out last year.

An artice titled nVidia COULD -- NOT WILL -- buy Transmeta from 2002.

An article about how Ati got kinda screwed by nVidia buying ULi.

This is a story entitled, Is BroadCom a target for acquisition, and is SPCEULATION about BroadCom being acquired by someone else with no names mentioned.

Yet another SPECULATION which never says anything will happen - unlike Charlie Demerjian saying AMD wouldn't snag Dell.

Methinks you protest too much.

I reference Anand and AMDZone any one else I think has "interesting" CPU news. The Inq is a NEWS SITE, not a review site.

Yes - it might post news, but it never quite gets around to either:

a) giving a source for the news

or

b) following their own "breaking news" sotry when it is proven to be utter rubbish.

In the respect of (b) we can't blame them - all the gutter press adopt these principles as their readers can't remember the previous page let alone last month's issue.

How about the story that the Mac wouldn't run Windows? Or their stories about AMD's 4x4 coming out "real soon" even though AMD has only just begun to talk to motherboard manufacturers. I guess it depends on the definition of "real soon." They also insist that AMD's 4x4 is designed to counter Conroe, when in reality it's meant to counter Kentsfield. While AMD talks to motherboard manufacturers about 4x4, Intel is already circulating Kentsfield samples.

I enjoy reading the Inquirer despite their bias. Charlie Demerjian is one of my favorite tech reporters and Désiré Athow is usually willing to praise Intel when they deserve it. Demerjian, for instance, considers the Blackford chipset to be excellent. But there's absolutely no question in my mind that the RAID article is FUD. It might be true, but such glitches are not uncommon when a new architecture is introduced. Remember the conniptions AMD fanboys suffered when it was shown that AM2 was actually slower than 939? And those results were derived from benchmarks conducted by a reputable publication and not anecdotal observations. AMD appears to have fixed that little glitch, but have only really managed to equal 939 performance, not surpass it.

I must admit - I go the theinquirer twicw a day.  Why, I'm so
anxious on getting my hands on a conroe, I hate not hearing
news about it, or the other components that I'm waiting for.
E.g. ATI's R
