Looks to me that AMD has a whole bunch of projects - major projects - going on simultaneously. That's not necessarily a good thing, but I guess we can only hope they have it together.

This is great news... and it would be nice if AMD would offer AM2 support to 939 mobo's via a socket converter...
This announcement seems like a reaction to conroe in order to garner future support in the face of fierce competition...

Asrock offers that with a couple of boards, for example:

I suppose that one would also run AM3 cpu's (K8L)
