my seagate 200GB model 7200.7 hdd is better than my 7200.9 300GB sata2 hdd at avarage read tests. is that normal ?

Actually that is pretty normal...

The Raptor drives were intentionally smaller to accomodate speed! However the 150gb Raptor (newer drive) is faster than the previous 74gb model. Product improvements ;)
