Hey guys I was just reading that link on the tomshardware website again. The one where the E6700 beats the FX 62 in like everything. Considering this processor is soo awesome, what price range should I expect to pay for a setup with something like that in it? I know I can build my own, but I am helping my brother get a new and really fast pc.

Just curious

ONE MORE THING......Anyone know the actual release date of the conroe yet? I keep seeing July 27 and July 14. Thx

Sticky up there

July 14th is the official one(right now..)

Price of the system, depends on what kind of RAM/PSU/etc you slap in there

quickly , that is in how quikly? just curious? how long would we have to wait for the price drop after the release this mont? would it be 2 months?3?

o.btw i have a question about the :
Core E6600 - 2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - $316 - Q3

what does the TDP stand for (thermal ....point/power) 65W...does it mean that this cpu will consume max 65 Wats on load?

thx

I don't expect Core 2 prices to go down until a new EE is released. Then all of them will step down a notch in pricing. There is a E4200 on the map and it will be cheap.

when will the EE be released? i saw some roadmaps but that was a while ago...forgot the dates. ill check the core 2 duo sticky maby something is there

Well, one EE comes out with the rest of the Conroes,, I believe.
Another one comes out in Q4, which should drive down the prices of those below it
