speedfan kills system

Okay, I've downloaded and installed speedfan many times. Each time I start it, the computer immediately powers down.
If I turn it back on, I get a single beep and nothing else.
If I wait about 10 minutes to turn it back on, everything is fine.
I have tried a copy of speedfan that I downloaded on a different computer, and it works fine.

Any suggestions? I want to start OCing, but have no way to monitor temps.

dfi ut nf4 expert
opty 165 with stock HSF
2x512 patriot DDR400
ultra x-connect 550W
evga 7900gt
2xraptors raid0
Everything at stock voltage/speed.
XP media center
Thought that might be the problem, reloaded with XP Pro - no help.
Mobo and opty are new. Everything else came from another computer.

It runs quite well, although not as fast as I would like.

Thanks for the no thought reply. I would like to try to get a fix for speed fan rather than a replacement.

Obviously there are other sources for similar products. If I have problems OCing should I google for motherboards, CPU's, Dell?

Come on, if you don't have any help for the question asked, you do not need to reply. It is an option, not a requirement.
