Do the eReader application (you refer to) handle pdb (palm database) format?
I know that Microsoft Reader cannot read pdb. I had to convert pdb to lit.

I found no pdb to lit converters that I liked but you can google for it
yourself.

What I did was to open the pdb in iSilo 4.0 and then save to txt. I opened
the txt file in Word and formatted the book as I wanted it. Also added a
table of contents. There is a free utility for Word that can save to lit
format (http://www.microsoft.com/reader/developers/downloads/rmr.asp). I
used that utility to save the book in lit format, also added the original
cover for the book.

Even though it needed a litte work from my part, the result was quite nice.

Run eReader setup again on your PC, and note the "Install Book" button on
the installer! Click that button and select the .pdb file you wish to
install.

See my reply to your original post. eReader reads pdb books, that's what
it's for, but you can't just copy the books to the device, you need to use
the installer.

eReader can't see books in \My Documents--they need to be one level down
in their own folder. Mine is in \My Documents\Peanut Press\ (or
\Storage Card\My Documents\Peanut Press\) but that's a leftover from
when it was Palmreader from PP--it may *ALSO* support something like
"ereader" now.

Best way to find out where it wants things is to use the included
"installer" at least once to see where it put the book--but you are NOT
required to use the installer each time. I copy pdb books (purchased
ones and those I created myself from txt files using dropbook) directly
to the card via a card reader on the pc--that works fine.

Why bother. Just download the free Palm Reader for Pocket PC. It will
read the file fine and provide several more ebook choices. It is a great
reader.

Rereading your post and need to make sure you meant what I read :-)

1) you ARE talking about "eReader" from ereader.com (and still available
at the original palmdigitalmedia.com)?
2) you DID run the setup program and install eReader?
3) it was the pdb book you "copied" not the setup program?

If so, then my other reply is correct and you just need to move the book
down one level to \My Documents\Peanut Press\. It's possible the
eReader install created the folder for you since it's also used for the
bookmark files--look for a folder called Peanut Press or eReader or Palm
Reader in the My Documents folder.
