Hello,

Is it possble to backup System state(Active directory as well) on one
server, and restore on another server computer? both are running windows
2003

Yes.

This was done in Win2000 to fake a DCPromo when
the database was too large to be (reasonably) copied
across the network, especially a WAN.

It was so commonly needed that MS add a special
option to DCPromo (install AD from MEDIA.)

This means you can actually do a DCPromo and feed
it the backup.
