I'm trying to get the parts needed to start building my very first pvr/gaming rig. My budget is about $600. There is a combo deal from newegg that takes $50 off getting the motherboard and video card I have below which led me in choosing those. Am I on the right track for building it? Should I replace any of the items? This will be the first computer I've ever built so any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you built a descent PC with the small budget. Your about $16 bucks over your budget. I'd say do you really need a TV tuner card? Its just the one thing that stands out in your list as a "is that really needed?" part. No idea if you need it for work or it's just a nice perk. But if your looking to stay in your budget and you don't really need the card for work reasons, i'd scrap it.

Well he wants to use it as a PVR so he probably wants to record TV onto the PC.

Orginial poster: That PC will be fine for PVR, but you wont be playing many games with it. If you can raise your budget to say $800 and get a decent video card, you will be much better off.

Splendid
Corsair's "Value Select" line is junk. In general, stay away from "value" lines of RAM. Here's 2GB of *real* Corsair at a great price ($137) after rebate (having 2GB instead of 1GB will help out a lot):

The case you chose is IMHO too small for all the stuff you want to install and for all the power it will draw. Get at least a mini-tower and a decent-quality power supply. Best bet is to monitor Fry's/Outpost.com, CompUSA, newegg.com, zipzoomfly.com, buy.com, etc to watch for sales/rebates on cases and/or power supplies. Free shipping is often key. I picked up an Antec Super Lanboy case for $15 after rebate earlier this week at Fry's. This one's not on sale, but looks nice and seems big enough:

By getting this 250GB WD hard drive, you'll save more than $40 after rebate and free shipping:
