Yesterday i found out that AMD has CPUs that consumes less for a desktop system: an Opteron socket 940 (30 W) and an AM2 (35W). As they have a Vcore relatively low (~1.02) can i achieve this power saving using a normal Vcore unlocked CPU? Can these CPUs have the same performance as another CPU with the same clockrate?

Thanks for the answers!
Yes they do. They are special runs for Enterprise. The Turion X2 supposedly only uses 31W.
Thats good, but can i use it on a desktop motherboard? I have a ultra-low voltage athlon xp-m on a desktop mobo, and it is running with a vcore too much high... Bios says so...
There maybe some S1 mobos released for the desktop. The 3800+ or 4200+ will be the easiest to buy for. Those are the speeds of the 35W chips. They should start turning up soon.
