I see so many different types of cases online with all differrent specs and such and I am looking forward to building a new computer soon.

Does the case have much effect on the build of the computer (besides the obvious please)? I'm talking the difference between 3 or 4 case fans or the size of the case? Is there anyone who could reccomend me some cases for a guy on a budget?

Thanks all.

I like buying cases with large diameter, low RPM case fans since they are much quieter than the smaller case fans. It's also nice to have a speed switch on these fans so you can boost them a bit if needed or keep 'em quiet when not needed.

The other thing to look out for is if you plan to buy a case with a power supply. Lots of cases include a cheap junk PSU...

I like Antec cases. They have decent power supplies iand you can sometimes find them on sale or with rebates that can bring the cost down.

If you want to keep your computer as cool as possible, look for a case that has an intake fan at the front (usuallly in front of hdd cage), intake fan on the side panel (right over the cpu/gpu/chipset), exhaust fan at the back and exhaust fan at the top.

Preferably all these fans should be 120mm as they will be quieter.

After that look for space and ease of installation. Motherboard trays, toolless design, some like compartments like lian li's.

PSU, scout is right, don't get a case with a psu unless it's an Antec, only ones I would ever buy with a psu in it, try to get something like the sonata II which comes with a 450w psu, anything under 400w isn't worth it.

I will be buying a seperate PSU so I am not concerned if it comes with one or not....it'll be nice to have a backup just in case though. What do yall think of these?

I love that Clio case....has so many fan ports (4thone down)

I'm using this case today. May not be what your looking for, but if your on a budget this certainly is nice quality, comes with fans, lights and 350w PSU. Eggcellent for the price. Amen.
