I've been building my own systems for about... (let's just way a while). I built two water cooled systems last year using Intel Prescotts, eVGA 7800 GTX graphic cards, Asus P5AD2-E Premiums, Danger Den water blocks, running triple RAID, etc...

I ran into an asundry of issues but being a die-hard I got through it.

Having always preferred Intel due to the demands of audio and video rendering, I'm now interested in building a new system using an AMD processor.

I believe the 939 socket is at end of life since the AM2 processors are making it into the market. My question is: Since I want a low power (low heat) processor and motherboard, what is the best combo? I've spent hours researching current mobos and am as confused by the chronic problems everyone seems to have with what seems to be every motherboard manufactured. If you check out reviews, say at NewEgg for example, it appears about 10% - 20% (or higher), of the people buying new boards have issues.

I recently build 5 systems using MSI Neo4-F and had to return 4 of the motherboards due to problems and the one I kept is now acting up. I've had Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, and Supermicro motherboards.

I'm in a quandry and wonder what anyone thinks. Is it hit and miss or could you say there are preferred motherboards less likely to be problematic?

Sorry for being so wordy, just trying to give a clear message.

Thanks!
