Go for a S939 X2, you'll be able to use the PC-3200 memory from your current system, you won't have that option if you go LGA775 (no DDR1 support AFAIK).

i would definetly go With AMD X2 intel requirs more watts and tends to generate alote of heat, expesialy the higher modles with duel HT.

i think you'll be surprised how quick you'll be able to buy one. AM2 cpu's came out pretty quick and Intel produces more cpu's than amd.

With a choice of Pentium-D, or AMD X2, I would pick Core 2 Duo :)

Is that only one the choices!?!?! Lol. Ku st woke up, kind mad and cranky lol. I'd be lucky if I get a Conroe by Christmas!

Meh... AMD was ramped up production on AM2 back in Feb/Mar. They spent a lot of time making parts so there wouldn't be a shortage. AFAIK, Intel has only recently begun to make Core Duo's (desktop). Also, Core Duo production is like less than 35%.

But who knows, there may be plenty of them at launch. But when u consider the price of those bad boys, I wouldn't count on it.
