Best Intel Pentium D 3.4 board for gaming?!?!

OK. First off I only want Intel and not AMd. Thanks. Second. Just wondering what you guys think the best Intel motherboard is that i should buy. i was looking at the 975's. But someone told me they slow down for gaming. ???
Dunno. I am also gonna get DDR2 675 ram, pci x16 gpu, and some serial ata's. I can spend like $250 on a board. Thanks for your help. I am sure someone here knows. I have heard great things of tom's hardware.

I presume you already know this, but get one which is Conroe compatible (for obvious reasons).

only problem with that... is it puts him over budget for his board.... but in the long run, i say it would be worth going a little over budget...

I don't know what prices are like over there but $250 should quite comfortably buy a Conroe-compatible board. I can't think of one which springs to mind but I'm sure someone else can.
