I received over a dozen abuse complaints on the thread, "**** u all", by poster "screwu4life". I apologise that I didn't have the time to reply to everyone who PM'd me - but, be assured that the thread was removed and the poster delt with appropriately.

That thread was 10 pages - please report these vulgar, abusive, off-topics threads as soon as possible so they don't get so extended. Perhaps it's "my bad" as I was gone most of the day (good day for golf around here).

But anyway, thanks to those who PM'd me.

Jake,

Thanks for taking care of it. I am surprised though that there isn't software that autoconverts the profanity for you. I am new here but sometimes show my seven year old some stuff so that he can start learning basics and I was disappointed to see that scrolling. Not blaming you. The poster is clearly responsible for his own actions, just thought ithe language could be autodetected and filtered.

It is auto ****, but as with everything, there are "hacks" and little tricks to defeat dumb filters - most saw just "**** you", but others know how to see the intended text. It's too bad, but that's the way it is for now. Hopefully, we can take care to get it removed before it sits there for long.

Gotcha, no worries. Oh, and what did you shoot. Just make up a number. We won't know the diff.

No way! I want an image of the scorecard! No Photoshopping allowed. Just kidding - no score required. I competed through college and used to have scratch handicap but these days, it's gotten extremely ugly. Funny thing, I can still enjoy it even if I don't score well. It just takes a good shot every now and then. Not like computing, where every performance aspect is quantitated to the limit.

No worries, he was a gnat (a small troll at that). Glad to see you were enjoying the day, although depnding on your mojo maybe 'enjoy' is too strong a word.

The best piece of advice ever is a 'Golden' quote my dad told me;

When I get another hole in one, I'm quiting cause I'll be at the top of my game!

It's really unfair to get one when you're a kid, because the next 20+years you think, hey I can do it again!

The game you love to hate.

I got my only hole in one on a par 3 on some course in with my father and friends in Sandusky,Ohio...I was 13. Now some years later, I can try the exact same shot and cry everytime, becuase I dont think its going to ever happen again.

I remember it well too, but the sadfact is, it was a par 3 and I was using a 1W LOL....damn. Now I understand why you dont need a full range of clubs when your so young.

Hole in ones are amazing events - congrats on scoring one. I've flown the ball into the cup and it broke the plastic cup liner. I've lipped out many, many times, but no hole in ones for me. My dad has two, my mom one and they were both over 60 years old when they got them - after playing for ~40 years.

I caught the whole sentence in it's entirety, so I went on in and started reading.
The whole thing was quite disturbing.
Indeed that guy screwu is clearly in need of some sort of professional help, that's a given.........but for people in this forum to supply him with 6 pages of text took the cake. No replies would've shown better judgement.
Many people here taint Tom's Hardware's good name just by being members of this forum.
There are truly some nuts here.

It was good to hear from you. I assumed he was banned. But, some
of the blame goes us. After the 1st couple of pages, it was evident that
he just wanted attention, so we should of ignore him.

You might say the Intel and AMD fanboys and non-fanboys united
in disliking this troubled kid.

True but at a point when there are already replies, and they target people you respect, then you crush the ant, and give him no succor.

In a perfect world, he'd be insta-banned. But it's not a perfect world, and for the most part the forum can easily regulate itself, it's just nice to have the mod ability to delete the mess after it's all over.

A few months ago some guy was posting gay porn, all the more reason moderators are useful.

Yeah, an Insta-block applied by people of enough posts would be handy for something like that. Temporary until the mods can look at the post in question. I'm not saying people of a certain post count are superior, just it's unlikely someone of many hundreds of posts would abuse the feature like someone with a dozen.

But once again another layer of difficulty for implementation, and bound to be issues with implementation, but I'd say it's a potential added helper.
