New Direction

Tha what the Dems told everyone the Country needs to go. I say what new Direction. You mean tax and spend. The Dems win both Houses. So what do they do that the are in charge again. They want to raise our TAXS. John Q. You dumb jerk. You never learn do you.

I support it too, but didn't the Supreme Court rule it unconstitutional about a
decade and a half ago?

Dont forget the $1000 a plate fund raising party they threw right after Pelosi stepped up.....after they said how badly campaign fund reform was needed.

Yeah, but I think it was different how Reagan wanted it.

I think he wanted full control whereas I think Bush just wants it for this one occassion to knock out all the special funding BS listed.

What can you do when it keeps getting pushed through?

Its on Congress to control their spending though.. its not up to the President to control it, in my opinion.

That goes to show Congress doesn't give a damn about anything.

Dems wants to pass legislation that will force lawmakers to describe what their earmarked money is going to be used for. As it stands right now, they just put a $ amount to be marked and its a done deal.

I think the Dems have a couple things right at least.

I'm for that bit but that's not until later.

They've already taken steps to raise taxes. Republicans made it 3/5th vote to raise taxes, dems just changed it to 1/2 of the votes.

Plus they want to raise minimum wage.. which Ohio raised their MW and now prices on stuff went up a little bit.. coffee shops, for example raised $0.20-$0.50 on average.

The service industry prices will go up with a federal increase.

Among other things, they wanted to vote against funding the war. They're waiting to see what Bush has to say on Wednesday though.


I like only a handful of things the dems are pushing for. 9/11 report, disclose earmarkings.

Other than that, I don't think they're doing anything worthwhile.
