Another shopping list

I'm going to be helping a friend put together a new PC and I was hoping you guys could check over my list of parts to see if this will offer some good bang-for-the-buck.

Mainly he just wants a new PC to replace his old one. He wants to be able to play most new games, though he doesn't need top-of-the-line graphics and needs to be fairly budget conscious. Anything you guys would recommend changing?

AM2 3500+ (Only $10 more than the 3200+ version and comes with a DVD edition of Far Cry which can be the first game that you try out, I think all AM2 processors right now have combos with them)

eVGA Geforce 7600GT (+ $30.00 mail-in rebate)

Other than that, the sytem looks great!

I agree with Akifuddin's recommendations, except for the ram: swap what he suggested for this 1GB set of Patriot DDR2-800. It costs a little bit more but the timings are a lot better.

Only problem with that Patriot DDR2 is that it's listed at 2.15V(!! 8O ). At least the XMS stuff is listed at 1.9V.

Well I'll take your advice under consideration. I think he'll be able to go for that better graphics card, but I'm not sure how much higher he can go beyond that. I know all the new CPUs are going to be AM2, but I'll have to check with him to see if future-proofing is within his budget. Thanks for the suggestions!

Forget about the 6800XT. And I'll second the changes that other people have suggested.
