SLI 7900GT's vs. DX10

I would presume that 2 7900GT's would kick the pants off of a single directx 10 card that is say the same price as one 7900GT. Will DX10 be visually superior to DX9, in that it offers greater rendering capabilities? I'm sure the answer is yes but to what degree. Should I forget to go SLI and wait for the DX10 cards?

That's presuming alot.
No one knows for sure, speed boosts might or might not be enough to favour one or the other.

I'd say forget about it unless you NEED it now, in which case you can always sell the two cards later when the DX10 cards do start testing, and you feel the NEED to buy one then.

Either or, you're asking about intangibles that don't exist and there's no impirical evidence for either.

I doubt that two 7900GTs will outperform even the first gen Direct X10 cards; remember when the 6800Ultra came out and the performance increases over the FX 5950 Ultra in Doom3?

They might kick a DX10 cards ass... but those DX10 card will carry features the 7900GTs will never have, SLI or not.
