Can't. Most Pocket PCs have software included to allow you to
periodically back your data up. Of course they should also be in
Outlook assuming you sync. Check out www.spritesoftware.com for a
great backup program if your PPC doesn't have one or it isn't powerful
enough for you.

Use your backup program. That way you won't lose them. It's called
activesync.
There are other pieces of software that can back your whole machine to
memory card too. My Asus came with two backup programs, and past threads
have pointed to backup programs too- check the newsgroup archives (I didn't
keep the info as I don't need it).
Or why not use file explorer and copy the file to your memory card? Copy it
back if you ever need to.

Hmmm.....well for me (yes I've had to hard reset many a times hehe), if
I remember right, as long as your main computer (not ppc) data remains in
tact, the info is still there within Microsoft Outlook...this even after
deleting partnership so I could set one up again with the recently hard reset
one. I opted to sync the same info....contacts...etc, and once all was said
and done, the info was back where it was supposed to be on the ppc. Backing
up is a very good idea though as well. Hope this helps in some small
way.
