lol. come on, tell me that phone isn't cool.
You reported it to yourself? 8O
Unfortunately, I can't see the piccy. Blummin' NetSense again.
Still, does this phone come with;
a) a battery with a short life-span that is non-user-replaceable
b) a screen that breaks if you look at it in a dodgy way
or are Apple going to make a decent product this time?
Why would Apple make a decent product? /dodgy

Bah, those battery problems have been corrected. As for the screens, that was also fixed w/ the new iPod nano.
I do see ur point though.
I used to like Apple until the iPod and it's DRM infested version of iTunes came out.
As the resident man of quotes I expected to see the Famed CmdrTacco comment from the pages of Slashdot:

Slashdot - Apple releases the iPod
It's funny to read the comments from when it first launched. I wonder how many of those posters own one nowadays..
They're just the "in" thing to have these days. My roommate's girlfriend is all about Apple "because Microsoft is so evil". Which is true to a point, but not anymore than Apple is. If I had the need for an MP3 player (do they still call them that?) I'd prefer one that supports more "open" formats.
The phone.. really isn't that cool.
Everyone ran out to buy a razor. The thing was stupid.. the first couple versions were crap.
Fock.. I just got my phone a year ago. I had it replaced 5 times in 3 months for defects. Now, less than a year later the battery is about 50% dead by the time work is over.

I thought you were trying to sell me one

That was part of the fun, obviously.
Given all the hype, I'm surprised they didn't call it the iPwn.

Oh Just shut the fcuk up already.
Woops, should have put that in Comptia's joke thread.

Apple has been the "in" thing for going on 4 years now. Many things have come and gone since then. I personally don't see Apple's status changing anytime soon. They have so many new potential lines of revenue it isn't even funny. To fcuk it all up they'd have to fire Steve Jobs again.

Jess...Ya been away far too long.
FanBoyz get flamed here...remember?
My wife uses Macs at work and loves them. She wants a laptop, went to Apple,
saw the prices, and is now going the Windows route.
*bubble pops*
LOL. Yeah, that's pretty much what prevents Apple from gaining significant market share in desktops and laptops (price). But I gotta say, the Mac Mini seems like a great value to me.
As with anything it depends what you want. I think the Mac 'Package' is quite a good deal when you consider what you get. Sure RAM prices and the like are steep but the level of design and integration are very good.
Some people find Apple to be very cheap, A certain person I know once managed a free 19'' G5 due to a screw up at Apple..

Here's a good one for you... My step daughter has had an iPod for a while now. For Christmas, she got a $200 Circuit City gift card to get a new car stereo to be able to hook up her iPod. She's got a 2006 Equinox w/ a stock stereo that plays MP3 CDs. She has tried the FM transmitters, and she didn't like them, too static-y and too much volume loss... So she goes to CC, picks a stereo for $200, there's free installation, but it's $210 for parts. "Mom, can I have $200?" I tell her she's getting robbed, and I'm not giving her that money... She gets another option from Circuit City for $250 total. I find this and this, at the time $50 or $150, respectively, plus Crutchfield gives you free vehicle specific install manuals. So I says to her "Here, I'll give you the money for one of these, saving you at least $100. She's like "Well, the gift card was bought to get me this stuff." I say "Who cares, go spend it on $200 worth of music and movies and shit."
Here's the best part.
"You know, your car plays MP3 CD's, so you can put like 10 CD's on to a single CD, and your car will play it. Cost = $0! You never leave town, your longest car ride is 15 minutes."
"I bought this iPod, and I never use it, so I'm going to prove I can use it, so not only am I going to spend $250 having this thing installed from Circuit City, my friend is also going to buy me a new iPod for Christmas because I want the newer version, and I'm going to give the old one to Grandma, who never leaves the house!"
"Fine, whatever..."
Stupid teenage girls.....
Apple vs M$, M$ vs Apple... and some people don't even realise that some things have been going on for longer than the over-emphatic and oh-so-critically-important AMD vs Intel/ATI vs nVidia stuff.
Me, I draw the ire of both the Apple fanboys AND the M$ fanboys wherever I can. (yes I'm one of those strange madmen who works with linux by choice - go figure. DX10 = Satan & M$'s illegitimate offspring.).
Back on topic: around here the diffs between mac & M$ isn't so much price, rather availability. Macs are incredibly rare, although M$ PCs are priced similarly to macs.
I do prefer an .mp3 player that gives me AT LEAST .mp3 support, not one that's so damn paranoid I'm half surprised it allows me to pick it up without forcing me to install iTunes on myself to listen to it. If it gives me open format support (or at least a decent choice of formats), so much the better.
Balls. My nokia 9300 with a 1GB MMC card works about as well anywy.
Battery life = 1440hrs or still not long enough to receive a call from the friends you don't have in your case.

I'm glad you do.
The battery issue only got highlighted when a few disgruntled customers posted their grievances on the web. And with Apple's resources these days, releasing the Nano without proper "field testing" is unforgivable.
The problems might well be fixed now, but it doesn't encourage early-adopters if the first version is going to be a dud. Sounds like Windows, yes?
