PLEASE read the top topics before posting news! First of all, this news is old and was heavily dicussed last week. 2nd, there's a top thread that mentions the Xbit analysis.

This Whole thing about AMD buying ATi is not healthy for the market at all. While it may seem a great advantage for AMD themselves, or even ATi, but it will be very bad for the customers because it would mean that Nvida will be the only provider of GPU's and it would be able to create a monopoly.

This would lead Nvidia to making the prices of GPU's higher since it is the only provider in the market!!! 8O

Let's Hope that such thing between AMD and ATi would never happen... if it does it will be good for compaines, but not us, the Consumers

It would be a wise idea for AMD to try and re-enter the chipset market and offer a more competitive solution compared to Intel's/nVIDIA's/ATi's
