Hi,

I have a Gigabyte 8I945P-G and I can overclock my pentium D 805 to 3.7ghz (20x189mhz) but if I put 190 on the fsb tweaker the bios won`t let me... As soon as I accept the modifications and restart the computer the fsb comes back to stock speed... I think it`s the CMOS that resets itself because my overclocking is too high. So is there a bios that is compatible with my mobo that I can download at it will allow me to pass the 189mhz barrier. (I can go higher because I have a watercooling setup TT BigWater 745... So I know it`s not a thermal problem.

Go here and get version F11 of your BIOS. Once flashed, try passing 189Mhz. If it doesn't work, you will probably need some DDR2-800 ram for that board. This 2GB set of OCZ DDR2-800 should work. If you only have 1GB, there here is a link to the 1GB set of OCZ DDR2-800. Make sure you remove the 667 set you have in there if you get the ddr2-800.

are you saying that if i dont have DDR2-800 or DDR2-higher ,
then i wont be able to get the d805 to run it more than 3.7ghz?

will i get it to go higher even if i have DDR2-667?

or is it with the problem that I would need 2gigs ram instead of 1gigs to go higher than 3.7 gigs for the d805?

The amount of ram you have doesn't matter. What matters here, is the rated speed of your ram. DDR2-800 will allow you to OC higher because ddr2-800 is rated to run at 400mhz. When you put it in that board, it will revert to running at 333mhz. But since it can safely run up to 400, you will be able to set the fsb that much higher.
