Hey guys i'm looking to build a new system pretty cheaply for my sister a few hundred bucks tops.

She is currently running a celeron 2.0ghz older gateway computer with some blazing speed (not really)

I am currently running a p4 northwood 2.66 with 533mhz fsb and NO HT.

Since I am the gamer in the family I plan on just giving my system to my sister and upgrading my processing power. I am looking at AMD 64 processors, and would like to know if it was worth it to pick up a 3200+ possibly. Would this be an improvement over my processor? I know my pentium 4 will improve my sisters performance greatly but what would be AMD's equivalent to my processor and what would do me better then my current p4?

thanks guys...

btw for the system all I need is a hard drive, motherboard, processor and possibly some more ram.

I choose not to go with AM2 due to me having ddr1 ram laying around to use. Why drop money on ddr2 when am2 isn't that much better than sock 939 processors
