I recently moved up to Windows XP professional from
Windows ME. My old CD writing software was Easy CD
creator 4. It will not run on Windows XP. I removed
it. I have Easy CD creator 6 which is XP compatible and
I have installed and removed it but I can't get rid of
the following error message that shows every time I open
Windows.

Devices or applications disabled. CD Recording Software
will cause Windows to become unstable. Windows has
prevented these drivers from loading. Click here for
more details.

The "details" window says that the "driver might have
been installed by Easy CD Creator, Windows Media Player,
or RealJukebox. You might not be able to record CDs
until you obtain compatible devices".

Windows Media Player IS currently installed and it I
successfully burned a CD. I am holding off on
reinstalling the Easy CD Creator because I want to get
rid of this message and whatever is causing it but the
error messages are not helping me. I don't have
RealJukebox installed (or at least I can't find it.

What can I do?
Thanks!

Ellen,

Looks like the filter drivers for the older version of Easy CD Creator (4.x)
is still loading at startup. See this article for more information on how to
