Glass Armor

I checked the prices for glass armor at the vendor in Ghostgate last
night. Ouch. I begin to better understand earlier discussions about
how much gold does one really need.

My character is a basic warrior type (as a rule of thumb I always
start with this sort of character, because I can easily understand the
dynamics of "whack the monster with a stick"). As a warrior, his
specialties are more towards medium/heavy armor than light armor like
glass. However, I'm a loot whore. Always have been, always will be. I
don't like to leave anything behind, so light armor makes the most
sense.

Is there anywhere I can reasonably expect to loot some glass armor as
a fighter in my low teens? I'm guessing the answer is going to be a
loud "No Way!", but figured I'd ask before I go on a soul-trapping and
selling spree.

You will eventually find glass armor in the course of your quests. Don't
worry about. Focus on your med/heavy armor.

If you have a good enough sneak skill and a good chameleon amulet
(available from another quest) you could try looting the treasuries in
Vivec. Lots of good stuff in them.

Not in low teens. There are few places with glass armour loot. I was
collecting a piece here and a piece there while progressing through the
game, took me quite a while to get a complete set for own usage.

I remember having stumbled over a complete glass armour loot set
somewhere in a citadel in Red Mountains, but that's not where you want
to go in your low teens. Pretty hard to carry the loot out being dead. :*)

Overall, glass armour is quite rare, and I suppose that has some good
reasons. It's one of the best armours in the game (though I'm not
playing a warrior type, so opinions might differ).

That Orc is Umbra, the current custodian of the fabulous, storied Umbra
Sword, and he's in the hills slightly east of Suran, but he's wearing Orcish
armor, not glass....

A good place to get glass for ME was in the Dwemer ruin just southeast of
the Urshilaku Camp. There are two ruins, the good one is northwest of the
other (which only has some old Dwemer Constructs and paltry loot). There are
a number of powerful vampires in the northwest ruin, and one on the lower
level is wearing glass armor. I just recently killed them all while in my
low teens, levelwise, but it was a helluva tough fight, and one I had to
complete in two stages. Using the Sword of White Woe helped a lot, as did
Eleidon's Ward, which you can find in a cavern near the ruin named Bani-dad
(I think!).

Happy fighting!

(Clawhound is right, though...unless your fixation must be gratified, you
will certainly come across more in the future and be more suited to aquire
it.)

Go to the fighterguild in Aldruhn down the stairs, take a left at the
guy downstairs and lockpick th first door on the right. There are
multiple containers in this room, one contains the glasscuirass and some
other glass armor

Or, follow the Fighter's Guild quests to the end, and you'll be given
that same armor.

Don't worry too much about the high price of armor. The treasure you
find in caves, etc., is generated based upon your level. At some point
when your characters levels are in the teens, you'll start seeing glass
and ebony armor showing up, as well as other high-valued items you can
trade for glass armor. By the time you hit the twenties, you'll have
more of that sort of thing coming in then you know what to do with.

Or, if you complete the fighter's guild quests and want to go for
Guildleader, you'll be given these for free. (Thus, why I said, just
play the game! Finding stuff is half the fun!)

No, there is also an orcish guard actually in Suran who does seem to
wear a fair bit of glass.

I generally just wore Dark Brotherhood armour, and wore glass when I
naturally found it.

That's the stuff off the assassin with the attitude problem that tried
to kill me a week ago? Yeah, I have that armor. I get lots of comments
on it.

In the past day I've accumulated almost 30k gold by selling gem stones
to the imp, so I may just buy one or two pieces of glass armor. But
overall, your approach of getting it where you find it seems the best.

And DoomMunky goes:

"D'oh!"
[smacks forehead, gives up Morrowind, becomes Monk (or is that "Munk"?)]

Ow, i didn't know that, probebly because i always steel it when visiting
Aldruhn for the firts time. I always play as a thief/fighter (crush,
kill, demolish and steel everything i can lay my claws on) so I steel
it, and it makes great adventuringarmor.

Huh. I've never been on that quest, but then, I've never been on many of
them. Who's the quest for?

No, I was wrong, sorry. None of the artifact listsm that I
have found, mentions a quest, so it must be just one
of the lucky finds, that rewards the dungeon-crawler
