virus??

my problem has resurfaced.
WINDOWS shows a blue screen and reboots after five minutes after the os has loaded.
i reinstalled windows but to no avail...
It is showing DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN _OR_EQUALTO
it was working perfectly until i installed a pirated copy of FEAR.
Is this due to a virus??
If so how do i remove it???

  1. It is possible. You have to try with bootable OS from CD, like WinXP Bart PE and any antiviurs for Bart Pe like McAfee.
You can try to clean the BS from the registry in Safe Mode.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
  2. is this due to a router problem??
i have a NETGEAR wireless and it was showing a red sign.
Whenever i disable and then subsequently enable the internet broadband connection windows restarts.
my internet connection is connected thro the router...
  3. You said it was after you installed pirated version of FEAR.
What is your full hardware configuration and settings?
What software have you installed on your rig and what drivers(version, settings etc.)?
  4. Did FEAR make you install direct X 9.0c or other drivers? Only kind of apps that would make a BSOD, usually a driver/compatibility issue.

I dont see how it's related to CPu though

Serves you right - you get what you pay for. Personally, I hope you get more of the same.
  6. I'm going to guess that it is some sort of heat or other hardware problem.

If you have multiple sticks of RAM try using just one (alternate and try different ones). You can use this method to identify problem sticks of RAM.

Try opening your case and put a large box fan on high to cool it off. If you find that your computer is stable with the box fan, then you're looking at a possible heat related issue.

If all that fails try reinstalling the heatsink. Clean the hestsink and processor of any thermal compound and go out and purchase a high quality compound such as Artic Silver 5 (aka AS 5).

    Good luck.

stop BS-ing. Everything on my rig is pirated.
  9. It isn't BS. Can I come aroud and share your rig then? I'll use it for the next 12 months, you can have the 12 after that.

    Idiot.

It is theft. Dobutless you'll be happy to hide behind your country's laws or moan that stuff isn't available there, or shock horror, I don't see why I should pay for someone else's hard work.
  10. have'nt you heard, stealing from multi million dollar compagnies aint theft

pffft, listen to Robin Hood or something

humor aside, I rarely buy games because I usually stop mplaying them after a week. But I do buy the one thats I play a lot, So I bought : Red Alert,Start craft, GTA Vice City/San andreas, and Cs: Source. thats it...

All the FEAR/GodFather/GRAW where nice but either finished them/stoped playing in less than 10 days. Not worth my 40$+!

No it is not. We live in different society and different country.
  12. It sounds like your one device's (possibly your video card) IRQ number is conflicting with that of another device.

Try clearing your CMOS settings, or setting the to default in the BIOS, and rebooting.
  13. I respectfully disagree with you, gOJDO.

Our worldwide society operates on incentive aka money. Money gives us the incentive to do things. If I didn't need to pay for my mortgage, food, clothes, water, etc. I wouldn't work. I work because I have to, not because I want to contribute to society.

The same is true everywhere. Video games are not made to entertain, they're made to make money.

If EVERYONE pirated software then companies would not make money and thus would have no incentive to produce video games for you to pirate.

The more pirating there is the less choice and quality there will be.
  14. Looking around the net, a few people attribute this error to a RAM problem. Try and get hold of memtest and run it for a few loops and see it it throws up any errors.

As for piracy, lower the prices and stop releasing cr*p and it will go away.

Or, don't buy the crap. If crap doesn't get bought there will be no incentive to make crap and thus crap will no longer be made.

If something is overpriced, don't buy it. There's a couple PC games I'm eyeing, and I refuse to buy them until they hit the bargain rack, because I feel they're over priced.

    hehe:)
Dude, where I live, in R<=300km there was war since 1990, until 2001. The average payment is 150euros and 45% of the population are unemployed. The society where I live is in transition from socialistic to capitalistic. Kapish?
  17. And why exactly does that give you the right to steal?

It is not stealing, the hard drives and CD/DVD medias are mine!
If software developers offer reasonable price, I will start buying their software.
Anyway why do you care about software developers while they don't care about you. They care only about the money and thats why 99.99% of todays software is so unoptimized.
  19. Whoa Abyss you really have an anti-piracy thang going on. Are you in the industry? Can you honestly say you've never used any pirated software/music/video? That's fairly impressive if you can. Just interested not flaming/moaning etc. :D
  20. No, I don't use any pirated software.

Piracy does hurt developers and publishers, and at the end of the day, if they are suffering, the consumer is suffering.

Less development budget, invasive anti-piracy software controls and higher prices. Less inventive development, small and niche developers and producers unable to bring new innovations and genres to the market. You don't see EA innovating do you?

Piracy is slowly choking the games business, and it is already a million miles from where it was 15 years ago. Now we have an endless line of sequels, prequels and rushed out crap that accompanies the latest Hollywood blockbuster. No innovation because of no small developers.
  21. Get McAfee anti-virus and scan your pc for viruses. If there is a virus, then you probably got it from the pirated game. Then throw out the game and format your hdd and reinstall Windows. :D
