2nd. it won't let me install usb 2.0 drivers. saying windows xp supports it but when i plug usb in it says it's not in highspeed port.

3rd. i had bought a 250gb hd. for some reason it's only saying i have 127gb.

When you post questions PLEASE POST YOUR SYSTEM SPECS!! Otherwise it makes it really hard to help you. However, 2 of your questions are rather easy.

1) Need more info

2) Install SP2

3) Install SP2

- Yeah thats problems 2 and 3 right there. 2000 does not support USB2 or drives larger than 127GB. Upgrade to XP Service Pack 2 and those problems will disappear. It might help with problem 1 too. Upgrade to SP2 and post back your results.

Once you get things up and running consider this.
I've done it and it makes future installs a brezze! :)

Thank you very much. i went and bought a REAL version of windows with sp2 and it seemed like sp2 did the trick. everthing is running perfectly. now if i can just find a way to keep my mobo from going up to 70 C and processor to 60 C without opening the case and putting a big fan on it that would be perfect.

That will depend on your case, what type of hsf you have and the ambient air temperature.
