Just got a new T637 and so far very happy.
I have just about everything working the way I want, but I have no idea how
to configure "standard" email. Text messaging and MMS is working fine - I
can send and receive, but I would like to have email capability that doesn't
show messages coming from me with the address in the form:
7773452345@mms.mycingular.com ...
Is there a tutorial or web page somewhere that describes what the
appropriate settings are for the cingular network?

You cannot retrieve your 7773452345@mms.mycingular.com email on your phone,
since Cingular doesn't support POP3/IMAP access (only WAP). The email client
in your phone only works with a regular ISP.

To configure the POP/IMAP/SMTP e-mail client, go to
Messages->Email->Options->Edit Account and create a new account for
whatever "standard" e-mail profile you'd like. You need to fill in your
incoming (POP/IMAP) and outgoing mail servers then, as well as your
name, reply-too address, etc just like on a normal PC e-mail client.
One catch here is that since you will be connecting to your e-mail
account from a Cingular WAP IP address, many ISP's won't let you access
their SMTP server to send outgoing mail. As far as I've been able to
determine, Cingular doesn't provide a smtp server for this purpose, so I
have been using photo.mycingular.com which works, but puts an annoying
ad at the end of each message...
Sending and receiving mail this way uses the GPRS data connection, so
you need to have a plan that allows this (e.g. any of the MEdia ones).

Eric, thanks! I have been messing around with this for a week - the
"photo.mycingular.com" was the piece I was missing. I just successfully sent
and received email from the phone using your suggestions.
