Sadly, no. Well, not 100%. Very few Optical Drives have SATA, the small tiny cables you see in Hard Drives. Optical Drives still use those fat, ugly IDE Ribbon Cables. IDE cables are the worst for airflow since they are so thick and large in width. What you CAN try to do is get a IDE-to-SATA converter. This converter should do the trick, and make sure you have a SATA cable on hand.

Converter

It has mixed reviews, so purchase with a heavy hand.

Yes, the best thing about those rounded cables is you can get the length you want and single or double. That means you don't have extra ends and long cable cluttering things up.

All my hdd's are sata so I used one rounded ide cable for my optical drive. It's just long enough to reach and has only one end to it. Very clean.

If you have two drives right on top of each other you don't need the extra length in between so get something that is short between the two like this one. http://www.frozencpu.com/rnd-21.html

If the hdd is in a hdd cage at the bottom of the case use something like this. http://www.frozencpu.com/rmi-14.html

I love the choices available now....

I'm also going to sleeve all my 4 pin molex power cables using expanding sleeve and a molex remover tool to clean it all up. All the different colors give me a headache. Use http://www.frozencpu.com/slt-01.html and http://www.frozencpu.com/slv-42.html
