Looking for advice on a power supply fit and run this set up. Would like to stay under $200.00.

Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000BWA Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower case

XFX PVT71UZDF9 Geforce 7950GX2 1GB 512-bit (256-bit x2) GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Xtreme Video Card

Intel Pentium D 950 Presler 800MHz FSB 2 x 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Dual Core Processor

Intel D975XBX Motherboard

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit

Hard drives not decided yet but thinking of a WD Raptor 74GB and something in the 200GB-300GB area for storage.

Will also be adding a sound card and a dvd burner.
Will be used mostly for gaming with some photoshop/video editing.

Based on a psu calculator you only need 400w. Now I would take that number and add 25% so you are looking at something in the 500w range. make sure it has at least 24 amps combined on the 12v rails.

Anything from Antec, seasonic, silverstone, ocz, enermax... etc

Antec - http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Prod [...] ode=269997

Ultra - http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Prod [...] ode=373061

I would personally go with the Antec...I actually own that exact same one, but both with work well with your system either way!

I build computer systems here in L.A. and the only supplys I use are PC Cooling 510's (up to 38 amps on 12 V @ 50C temps). They have cleaner power than Silverstone which is the psu's Falcon uses.

All other psu's rate thier output @ 22-25C which in real live is a joke as the temps inside the psu goes up the clean pwr out goes down.

Look around OC websites and notice the voltage people use to get CPU's up to speed. I do the same speeds without raising voltage with this PSU as it handles the currant @ standard volts both on the cpu and the chipset.
Doing so keeps the operateing temps alot lower.

It is not a $90-127 600watt psu...it is a real psu.

The cost is $219-229 USD retail.

On anoter note,if you want to go with a dual gfx card system then do so...don't use the under clocked linked-card 7950. Myself I can't find anyone whos eyes can tell between a one card or Crossfire/SLI set up.

You asked,I told.
Your money so now do what you want.

PC P&C are great yes but this is from silverstone's specifications for the zf75 750w psu

750W continuous at 50°C & 90V
( 950W continuous at 25°C & 90V with OCP removed* )

and it costs $210 on newegg...

do your homework

Dont worry...you still made a good choice and are getting a great psu with the Antec that you chose!

P.S. to some others trying to lend a hand! under $200 means for it to not cost over...well $200 so im pretty sure that the PC P&C 510w was not one of the options to be looked at...(nothing against the power supply or company...just answering the mans questions!)

well. Antec is a better brand name, delivers more power on the 12v rail, very quiet, and is over all better.
