greasy hands: towel the only remedy?

Is a towel (which I flat out haven't found yet) the only remedy for
greasy fingers? I ate a tin of food which greasified my
fingers...never had that happen before. I'd dig keeping my slow
digestion, so any clues?

Thanks,
Fish

Towel's the only immediate solution that I know of, but the
effect will wear off by itself in only a few turns.

Self-polymorphing into a creature with no hands does not count, I suppose.

I just re-wield the weapon 3 or 4 times until the effect wears off.

You can't. Thus, "greasy hands" is not a problem. This is why Janis said
"it does not count, I suppose", and included a smiley.

I thought it was rather obvious he meant that...

There IS another way - ::

1) Weild nothing (When asked what do you want to wield, use '-')
2) Etch (with your bare fingers) a looonnggggg line of text on the
floor and get your hands sandy.
3) Etch (again with your fingers) and this time, rub off the text.
4) Now try wielding the weapon.

Are you sure you aren't simply using up enough turns so that your hands
would have dried off naturally anyway?

I reiterate: why do you suppose Janis said "... does not count, I
suppose.", followed by a smiley?

I doubt anyone else here will find it "a stretch" that the smiley meant
Janis was joking, and that he knew full well that this was not a helpful
answer. I don't see any other remotely reasonable explanation, sorry.

if I must spell it out for you... lack of concentration could very well of
led him to ask "how does one stop ones hands from being slippery?": no hands.
